Nie Linhai, deputy inspector of the Department of e-commerce and information technology of the Ministry of Commerce, revealed in the "2012 China clothing e-commerce development forum" that the Ministry of Commerce will jointly organize eight ministries and commissions to create a national e-commerce demonstration city during the "12th Five-Year" period, and arrange funds to support more than 100 projects involving e-commerce and infrastructure projects, and give financial support to seven pilot cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Changsha and Shenzhen.

The total sales amount (about enterprises) is about 5 trillion and 400 billion yuan, and the total retail sales of clothing consumer goods is about 1 trillion and 400 billion yuan.

It is estimated that the B-B category of textile and apparel e-commerce channels accounts for less than 20% of the sales volume of traditional channels, while the penetration rate of apparel network retail is 14.3%.

Zhu Guoxue, Deputy Secretary General of the circulation branch of China Textile Industry Federation, said that e-commerce channels for textile and clothing have become an important way for enterprises to open up the market and increase sales revenue.


Zhu Guoxue introduced that in the past 2010-2011 years, China's textile and clothing e-commerce market has seen a trend of rapid growth, diversified subjects and mutual integration, and the increasingly active application of traditional enterprises' e-commerce.

Textile and apparel products have always been the largest category of e-commerce market. In recent years, they have maintained rapid development, especially in apparel online retail pactions. The growth rate in 2010 is 111.2%, and the growth rate is 94.7% in 2011. It is estimated that by 2014, the overall scale of the apparel online retail market will reach 519 billion 500 million, and the proportion in the overall online shopping market will remain at around 27%.
